Biography

When a coach tells his team to practice hard because "you play like you practice," he must have had Steve Lee in mind. As a 6'1", 190 tight end, Steve Lee was known for his competitive fire, bone crunching blocks and durability. Never missing a practice in his entire career at Feehan, Lee was the consummate coach's player. He practiced hard-and he played even harder. As co-captain he led by example in both action and word. Lee was the cornerstone is resurrecting a Feehan team that had not won a game when he was a junior. As a senior, Lee was the team's emotional leader, and he led no better than Feehan's incredible 7-6 upset of a heavily favored Attleboro team. Feehan featured a punishing ground game that afforded Lee few opportunities to catch the ball; in fact, Lee had the unique distinction of catching the only touchdown pass thrown that season in his last game against Coyle.

A three sport athlete, Lee was a starter on an 18-2 basketball team in addition to playing four years of varsity baseball. Son of Hall of Fame great John Lee (AHS '37) and nephew of Jim Lee (AHS '40) Lee now lives in New Jersey with his wife Debbie.
