Biography

Sean Peters

At 6’4 and 240 lbs., Co-Captain Sean Peters was a 3-year starter at offensive tackle and 2-year starter at defensive tackle. His toughness (played through a torn labrum), athleticism (great feet which allowed him excel as a blocker), and smarts (playing multiple positions on defense) helped Peters to be one of the best linemen to ever wear the Red & White.

Coach Paul Sullivan had the highest of praise: ‘I would put Sean in the top 5/10 linemen in the history of the program. He stood out from other linemen due to the rare combination of size and athleticism. He could reach, pull and power block with equal impact. If we had a sufficient supply of offensive linemen, he very easily could have been a quality, old school tight end.’

Sean’s greatest memories start with his first start against Sharon his sophomore year (a 35-7 victory). They continue with a thrilling come from behind victory over Stoughton his junior year (down 14-0 at the half) that kept the team undefeated at 5-0 and was the first overtime victory for the Rocketeers in their history – and concluding with victories over perenial powerhouses BC High (27-7) & LaSalle Academy (47-27) in his senior year.

Sean also remembers decorating his helmet with teammates the night before the annual Thanksgiving clash against Attleboro. The Rocketeers swept all three games against the Bombadiers with Sean in the lineup, including Sean’s final game in a Big Red uniform 38-14.

Offensively, Sean has no statistics, but the one thing that stood out to Coach Don Johnson was that the offense was much better when Sean was in there. His exceptional ability to excel in both the run and pass game made things easier for the skill position players behind him. Defensively, Sean compiled 33 tackles, 9 assists, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble in his two years on the defensive line.

For his efforts , Sean was selected as a Sun Chronicle (2011 + 2012) and Hockomock League (2012) All-Star, as well as being selected as the Paul Sullivan Offensive Lineman Award winner. Sean earned a football scholarship to Sacred Heart University where he earned a B.S. in Exercise Science and was a 3-year starter on the gridiron (all-conference in 2017). He is currently working towards his Masters degree in Exercise Science.
