Biography

jim_johnson.jpg

The three-year letterman capped his successful high school career quarterbacking the Big Red to an 8-2 record, including a convincing 33-0 win over Attleboro on T-Day. Though injuries limited him to only kicking his Junior season, Jim kicked a school record 32 extra points on his way to earning All-Hock and All-Sun Chronicle honors. As a senior co-captain, Jim's 937 yds (57-107) and 8 Tds passing resulted in a number of personal accolades, including selection as co-captain of the Hockomock Lg. All Stars, All Sun-Chronicle selection and membership on the Boston globe All-Scholastic Team. Also, Jim was named Evening Times MA Player of the Year and became the fifth Rocketeer to be named a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete. He was also selected Offensive MVP in the T-Day win, his first of three MVP awards in a twelve month span. Jim competed in the Mass. Shriners All-Star Game and the Harry Agganis All Star Game (Off. MVP) before enrolling at Lafayette College. He was the first ever freshman selected MVP in the 120th Lafayette-Lehigh game, the oldest rivalry in college football. At Lafayette Jim played QB and WR and was named co-captain and team MVP his senior year. Jim has been employed by AT&T since graduation, is married and has two daughters. He joins brothers Don ('79) and Jack ('80) in the Attleboro Area Hall of Fame.
