Biography

Scott Powers was a leader of the outstanding Attleboro High School championship teams of 1969 and 1970 seasons. Described as a reliable and durable player in the trenches for the Bombardiers, Scott was a tough interior lineman at his offensive center and defensive tackle positions. With good size at 6'2", 210 lbs, Powers was a main reason for Attleboro High School's domination of the Bristol County league with a record of 7-2 as a junior and 8-1 as a senior.

Coach Jim Cassidy commended Powers several times during his career for his play on offense and devastating tackles on defense.

Co-captain Powers was selected as a twcrway starter to the Sun All Star Team. His execution of block(ng and hard-nose tackles made him difficult to be overlooked. He gave everything he had every time he stepped onto the gridiron. A real work horse who seldom made a mistake, he opened up holes for his teammates that included Hall of Fame members Gary Livesey and Ray Boudreau. A true inspiration for his AHS teammates and a fine young man, Scott is a most welcome addition to the ranks of the Attleboro Area Hall of Fame.
