Biography

carl_mitchell.jpg

During the last four decades there is no one who has shown more dedication to the football program at North Attleboro High School than Carl Mitchell Mitch first became involved with the athletic programs at North in 1965, when he was in the eighth grade. Ever since that time he has spent a good pan of his life repairing equipment and healing the wounded in Red Rocketeer Land.

Carl served as student-Manager for the athletic teams at North until his graduation in 1971. Although he graduated he never really left. He continued his involvement in an expanded capacity serving as trainer, and equipment manager. For several years he received little or no compensation. Eventually, the administration recognized Mitch's valuable contributions to the school and community and appointed him full time athletic trainer, a position he is still active in today.

Carl has worked with four different athletic directors, three football coaches, and five basketball coaches during his service to North High. At one point, it was rumored that he had serious thoughts of leaving, but the emergence of girl's athletic teams during the late 70's and 80's was enough to convince him to hang on a  while longer.

Carl Mlitchell has given nearly thirty years to the athletes of North Attleboro. He has touched many lives and made many friends. If there was ever a person deserving of the title "Mr. North Attleboro," Carl Mitchell is that person.
