Biography

A three year Bombardier starter in 1971. 1972, and 1973, Steve Hall was the classic quiet man in the trenches who consistently paved the way for Attleboro's explosive offense while shutting down the opponents running game. As a senior, the versatile co-captain was a first team All Sun District and All Conference selection as an offensive guard while as a Junior he was honored as a defensive tackle. On offense, Hall had the strength and the outstanding technique needed to trap block much larger defensive tackles and the great speed needed to pull-out and lead Attleboro's powerful end sweeps and option plays. On defense, Steve would use his outstanding "grid smarts" and great lateral quickness to get big defensive tackles to lunge at him - before he bowled them over to stop the run or slipped past them to get the quarterback.

In 1973 Attleboro had an outstanding record of 7 wins and 2 losses. As usual the offense earned most of the recognition but it was the Hall led defense that held seven opponents to a total of 29 points, including three shutouts. Steve was consistently sited for "being all over the field" as he led the AHS defense with great skill and fierce determination.

Steve Hall played football to win. His quiet leadership, outstanding skills, and competitive spirit were an inspiration to his teammates - recognized by his coaches and opponents - and an important part of three successful Bombardier seasons.
