Biography

jake_mckenna.jpg

Jake McKenna, who played under Jim Cassidy at Attleboro High in the early '60s, has devoted a good portion of his adult fife to youth work. After serving for many years with the Pop Warner Program in Attleboro, Jake turned his hand to high school coaching in the early '70s. For a decade, he coached alternately at Feehan and Attleboro, exhorting his troops with a deep voice that belied his compassion and concern for his young charges. Two of this year's Hall of Fame inductees, Brian Fuller and Jim Lepper, were the beneficiaries of Jake's coaching skills at AHS. Now retired from coaching, Jake remains active on the area sporting scene as an official of field hockey, basketball, and softball.
