Keith epitomized the North Football Player. At 5'9" 165 lbs, his hard nosed style of play at linebacker bellied his size disadvantage. Head coach Ray Beaupre was quoted in the local paper stating, 'This team was exceptional when Keith Meyer was in the line-up. Without him we struggled" More impressively the Meyer-Jed defense of '87 held 7 opponents to one touchdown or less and surrendered only 69 points all year. With a healthy Meyer in the line-up, North registered a 34-0 shutout of Attleboro to finish the 1987 season with a respectable 7-3 record.

Keith doubled as a powerful offensive guard, blocking for a variety of North carriers, including Hall of Famer Mark Newport.

Keith's outstanding efforts earned him a spot on the 1987 All-Hockomock League Team, of which he was selected captain. He was also selected as a Sun-Chronicle All-Star in both his junior and senior years. His selection to the division ill Boston Globe AU Scholastic Team was a perfect ending to his high school football
